Review of the Asus Eee PC 4G Surf

Asus Eee PC 4G Surf (7" Screen, 800 MHz Intel Celeron Processor, 512 MB RAM, 4 GB Hard Drive, Linux Preloaded) Pure White

This little gadget is a great second computer for some and a perfectly adequate system for others. It will not provide all of the standard features that are available on a typical laptop and it is extremely small in size, but it is a good budget item for those who must be conscious of the cost. You can generally pick one of these up for a few hundred dollars and be surfing the net in no time.

This model has the Linux operating system installed and it is relatively easy to learn if you are not used to it. You will find that the keyboard on this laptop is very small, but easily worked around after a little bit of time. It is certainly bigger than most cell phone keyboards and most people can function pretty well with those. The computer is built to be tough and withstand drops and bumps so it's perfectly acceptable to throw this in your book bag and take it with you wherever you go.

The whole computer only weighs two pounds so it will hardly be noticeable in your bag. The only way to get a system for this amount of money with this amount of functionality is to go with a refurbished or used model of laptop. If you are looking something brand new for a low cost you won't do better than this.

Be prepared for some of the things this machine does not have, however. You will not be able to install software from an optical drive, you will have to go online and download any software or upgrades to this machine.
